"Jaime Carrasco"

violin guitar pan pipes quenas and vocals

Born in Santiago Chile, Jaime Carraso’s family migrated to Australia when he was less than a year old. He began his musical education at age 11, when he began learning the pan flutes after a chance hearing of an Andean cassette his father has in the car. Picking up guitar at age 16, violin at 19, and various other instruments along the way, now 28, Jaime is one of the most passionate musicians you could ever hope to meet. Jaime's qualifications in Journalism and photography, combine well with life on the road as a touring  musician. He plays, guitar, charango, violin, Ronrocco, tiple, quarto, Quena Quenacho, all with equal ease, and switches amongst them when performing on stage, depending on the arrangements.
